...the remaining members may be glad to be rid of them as much as miss them. All the 8 remaining members are considered P5 and how does that automatically change simply because OU and TEXAS leave? If they are no longer P5 worthy, then they never were P5 worthy. But this event does expose the entire reality that what constitutes a P5 is often quite irrelevant.
Is it Stadium or Arena and Facility Sizes? If so, BYU would be the 3rd largest Stadium and I believe about tied with Kansas for the largest BB arena in the conference right now. Remove Texas and OU, and BYU would have the largest stadium (and prettiest setting) in an expanded B12 that added BYU and Houston. I also think the B12 would really want to get to 12 and so figure another school on the WVa side, perhaps South Florida, Central Florida or Memphis as a tweener. On the west it might look to rapidly expanding Las Vegas (UNLV) or bring a huge part of the Front Range back by adding CSU. The delta there is that UNLV now has a glossy new NFL stadium to play in AND is a destination City so imagine the travel games for all those flat-landers in the Midwest wanting to get away from dreary November on the plains. I could actually see the expansion easier without OU and Texas even though they were probably two of BYU's biggest allies. Now the BIG 12 needs a program like BYU assuming the Horns leave Sooner or Later (see what i did there). 😉
