Just one thing...
...I think the BYU is always mentioned last because that's the way talking heads think. But that is not how cash and territorial protecting presidents think. They know replacing OU and Texas means less revenue and having to replace it w/2-4 teams. Adding four makes sense. Two is just phenomenally stupid. But if all possible adders, BYU is #1. Largest brand name, largest stadium and basketball arena, most successful in all sports, least costly (no conference buy outs) already an ESPN partner, is a comp academic replacement for OU and Texas. It's not likely #4 on that list unless ESPN thinks it benefits more from BYU as an independent (possible). The real question is will ESPN or Fox be out there trying to help the remaining B12 stay alive or will the building if superconferences become the reality. If so, then what keeps some of tg he low level P5's in place? Why Duke or Wake Forest, Vanderbilt or Rutgers over BYU or SDSU? See in federal court, that becomes a P4 problem in an anti trust case that those universities do not want but may bring upon themselves.

Setting themselves apart in what is clearly a monopolistic sports entertainment business plot makes for bad tax and a tu collusion legal defense if the G5's and cutouts are sided with MLB, NFL, NBA, MLS and NHL because the P4 are competing for the same bucket of sports entertainment $$$ and getting massive perks, tax benefits and regulatory exclusions that G5 get, but competing like businesses at the professional level.

Congress blinks at this now, but forever? Definately not so sure of that when a few dozen pro-franchise iebers start wondering why they pay taxes and the University of Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, or Alabama does not.
