Doesn’t mean they weren’t working parallel tracks
We have no clue what else has been discussed over the past 6 months. Texas and OU don’t care about burning bridges (A&M, Mizzou, Nebraska all leaving). They probably decided to rattle the sword, see what they could get, and take the best option.
