If the new CFP format goes through it actually will be different, not semantics.

The six highest rated champs, whether they are the SEC, AAC or watered down B12 will get an auto bid to the playoff. The line between the bottom 3x P5s (P12, ACC and B12) and the top G5 (AAC) will blur significantly and be more about money than access.
