In 5 years, the schools left have poor coaches, and the schools have no clue how to budget correctly without 30+ million from conference money. They lose in recruiting wars because they don't have the money to do it the way they are used to doing it and when the 2025 contracts are negotiated ESPN can see the writing on the wall and offers the conference MWC kind of money.

That scenario isn't as far fetched as you seem to think it would be IMO.
