I think she has dipped a bit in performance. Many have said she has been struggling. Maybe, she saw that she wasn't performing at her best and thought another gymnast could out-perform her. Maybe she honestly felt the team had a better chance at a gold with another gymnast taking her spot.

It will be interesting to do see how she does in the individuals.
