Cultural fit is a very real thing, in the business sector.
Mergers have fallen apart, after being consummated, because the two cultures were too different and too ingrained to change.
Daimler and Chrysler, HP and Compaq come to mind.
All conferences, especially the A5s (not Big 12 right now) have a generally defined culture to which they adhere.
