The first problem with that line of thinking is "dilute their product"
The A5 status will not go away unless the Big 12 breaks up. It simply won't happen. There is too much at stake in the A5 status to show the world it was all based on false pretenses. If it goes away because of the loss of two schools, it was never warranted and may not be warranted for other conferences not named the SEC.
Also, I think ESPN would love to have UCF become a power.

Yeah I disagree completely. B12 more likely by far than AAC. We have already said no to AAC and never to B12 yet
