Basketball was the one sport I wanted to make the varsity and couldn’t
We ended up having a state championship team my senior year and a few guys who played D1 and one NBA guy so it was tough to make the 12-14 man roster
Wresting was also very difficult, I was fortunate to have multiple varsity matches all three years but I new most of the team never had a varsity match their entire 3 years in the program. You can’t hide in wrestling, if you have 10-15 guys in your weight class on your team, you have to be able to beat them all every week to hold your spot
