Given the allegation that ESPN and the AAC (Aresco) have been conspiring to get
the BXII leftovers in the AAC (to avoid monetary penalties on UT and OU), strikes me that the leftovers should immediately invite BYU.
Sure, they’re hoping for an invite to another P5. But they have to know that is far from a sure thing. And for some, very unlikely. So they have to face the hard reality of making the best conference they can.
You want to be in a conference with the dregs of the AAC or MW?
You trust Aresco?
Immediately invite BYU and make it clear who is doing the expanding/poaching. Then, create your “best of the rest” conference that will decimate the AAC and MW and make the B12 far and away the 5th best conference. (And hope to be included in any breakaway).
