the remaining 8 choose to not expand, which would have increased everyone's payouts by adding more teams... but they instead choose to scrap that for a small increase without adding teams.

I think if they add teams now, it may void their contract... or at the very least the new teams added won't be in the existing contract. Which this is where a new network partner, or streaming service may come into play... the new teams added will be on the new network/streaming service... the remaining members will get a slice of that pie while the new members get the majority of it until the BIGXII's ESPN deal expires.
