The remaining Texas schools unequivocally don’t want Houston. They don’t want
more in-state competition for recruits. Though they do make the most sense geographically.

Cinci makes a lot of sense due to their recent success and it would give WVU a travel partner.

BYU would make the most sense from a financial perspective. And it would give them a late night option to compete with the PAC.

UCF has been in decline somewhat the last year or two. They’ve had some great success this decade though, and it gives them a foothold for Florida recruiting to compete with the SEC and ACC.

Other options like Memphis, Colorado State, SDSU, USF just don’t have strong followings. Maybe Boise State, but their academics are bad, and would probably only be interesting as a travel partner for BYU.
