I think the AAC is trying to capitalize on confusion and people trying to rush preservation. Also, Aresco is a master
at over-inflating the AAC's prominence and value. He has done it a lot throughout it's history. He is trying to marginalize the remaining team as if they are below their conference which is not true in so many ways. Maybe some of the teams but as a whole it is not.
Again, Big 12 can poach these teams with more money and ultimately a better conference. If they got Houston and Cinci and BYU and then whatever fourth option from the AAC or maybe Boise that is a significantly better conference than what remains in the AAC.
