The one explanation that I have heard that is the only one that makes any sense
is that ESPN is indeed manipulating behind the scenes.

As it is asserted, the AAC is emboldened by ESPN approaching them and promising financial backing to dissolve the Big12 so that it saves the network millions in future contract payments.

The accusation is that ESPN is financially stranding the Big12 and promising their future support to the AAC.

So, the AAC is offering a path for Big12 teams to reach a haven covered by ESPN financial support.

Sources also unsure how far Fox is willing to go with new Big12 contract.

Now is it true?

Bowlsby thinks so and he is steamed.
