When Kalani was hired, I think many of us expected his improvement of recruiting
would be winning over high profile recruits, and have perhaps been disappointed in the results there. What he appears to have been successful in so far is identifying talent that maybe wasn't so high profile in recruiting. This is really where programs are built. You are never going to win a high percentage of the time against top programs, but if you get really good at spotting talent early, you can get somewhere. Think of guys like Gary Patterson at TCU - consistently able to identify talent that was somewhat passed over by the big guys.
