If you can listen to the interview. He said the Presidents were the reason for the Big 12 back out
and BYU serves a purpose for ESPN as BYU helps them make money but it's a business relationship. Didn't specifically state the reason for the Pac 10 but it sounded like the presidents. Again networks have much more power now than they did 30 years ago.
