I didn’t see this discussed yet but after the team walk before the Utah game, Kalani got the students hyped up right before they opened the gates (which I loved watching, he’s the best). As soon as the gates opened, the students pushed right through the barriers and a flood of students rushed into the stadium without scanning their tickets (I never saw them regain control so I assume at least a couple thousand made it in unaccounted for). Inside the stadium I heard students say they sent their unscanned passes to friends who didn’t have tickets.
I just want to say I have never seen the student section more packed and energetic than they were that night, I loved it! If you rewatch the broadcast it looks like there are 3 students to every 2 seats, I wouldn’t be surprised if the stadium was unknowingly over capacity and therefore the largest modern era crowd at LES! Considering the result of the game and the energy of the stadium, I wonder if there is a better way to match the results in the future?
Did anyone else see this happen?
