fire the dude--big regret. It made Sundays uncomfortable for a while. That rule was easier for me living outside of UT my whole career. My FIL hired his home teacher, who pushed him all the time for a job. The HT had a crummy work ethic, and my FIL had to fire him. I also think it is best not to hire a relative for the same reasons of awkwardness and entitlement. I realize little Mom and Pop businesses might be an acceptable exception.
