Note the DL though, as Hawaii gets stood up with no movement. But yeah, the QB only needed a foot or so.
Here it is again

My point is that if so, there was 8:21 left (not 9:00 minutes that I approximated, but I was close), so BYU would have enough time for a couple possessions. Unlike last weeks game where there was still over one full quarter to go (where there is a lot more variability on how the game could alter when played out), here they were getting close to going down to the wire. The kicker, IMO, is that BYU marched down the field and scored a TD. I do not think that really would have played out differently even if Hawaii had scored a TD. Even if BYU faltered, they could have gotten one more possession for one last try too. As it was, BYU got their TD pretty easily, burned clock and then stopped Hawaii on Hawaii's last attempt.
There is always the possibility things could have played out differently with a Hawaii TD, but I don't really think they would have. Further I think it is more of a stretch to say BYU would not have gotten the winning TD than it is to claim if Hawaii had gotten the TD BYU would have lost.
