They decided without input from the very people whose input was needed
to make an informed proposal.
They were fine with ESPN have exclusive rights to the new CFP. Apparently they didn’t think that opening up tye budging process was important, or even necessary.
They certainly didn’t consider talking with university presidents, especially the ones who hold the votes necessary to effectuate any change.
The process was backward and lacked transparency. They should have announced, two years ago, that they were exploring options and solicited input. Then, and only then, they could have analyzed the input and then made a proposal.
There will, eventually, be an expansion. I think it will not be the current proposal.

I could see it going only from 4 to 6. Not a lot of incentive to expand really. Yes the SEC would get another berth or
