If he continued, he'd lose the year of eligibility. I agree he should gut it out, but he's probably thinking that since he won the job at a D1 P5 school, he can likely get a lesser profile school to give him another shot at starting for a year. And with the portal and eligibility there, it makes these decisions possible. That's better than letting Utah scapegoat him. He's not shown that well from what I have seen of him as a QB, so you may be right, but Utah has a bad OL as well. Utah is a bad choice for QBs anyway.
