when I attended BYU in 2006. I simply knew you had to live in BYU-approved housing--but it seemed like everywhere was approved.

That rule was implemented about 15 years ago IIRC. Only allowed "BYU-approved"

As I understand it... now only freshmen have to live in BYU approved housing.
