So - you hit on a VERY important point in your OP here.
Relationships matter to Kalani - and they are reciprocal.

You state that Kalani has talked about his love for KW. And yet - he left KW and Utah. Why? He didn't feel the commitment from the other side - he didn't feel the love from the Utah AD.

If Kalani feels like BYU's AD isn't treating him right (whatever that looks like) then he absolutely could leave. And he could do it while telling us all how much he loves us, BYU, the BYU players, etc. The ball is in BYU's court here. We also know that while BYU has upped its game as far as coaching salaries - that they will never pay what a place like USC will pay. So it becomes a matter of how much is enough and if BYU can do other things to show their commitment to Kalani and the other coaches.

But to say that he's not the man you think he is if he leaves is a straw man argument. Kalani has left places before - places he was working with people he loved. So it's completely possible for him to leave BYU as well.

All that aside - I don't think he will. But he could surprise me. And if he did, I'd be disappointed. But I wouldn't be disappointed in him. And I wouldn't view him in any lesser light. He is a genuine good dude and will continue to be a genuine good dude even if he goes elsewhere.
