The Matrix is a good choice. I knew nothing about it but a friend asked me to go
so I went and was blown away.
I took my two oldest boys to Inception when it came out and they knew nothing about it and had a similar experience.
The Fellowship of the Ring was also good but I was waiting for that movie with high expectations. Didn't disappoint but not the "blown away" experience.
