don’t just gush over the As and ignore the F. You get very concerned about the F. You ask what the crap happened. You tell him he’ll never get into BYU if that happens in high school. You outline a plan so it doesn’t happen again. You tell him you want a weekly accounting of his progress. You don’t just bask in the glow of the six As, even if your kid expects you to.
