15 years ago. A friend of mine and I were in South Florida for a business meeting. We decided to drive to Key West to have a piece of Key Lime pie. We found a little cafe right across the street from the Earnest Hemingway home, and the pie was great. We thought we should head to the beach for an hour before we went back.

When we asked the waiter about a beach, he directed us to one right next to the Marriott hotel. When we got into the bathroom to change, we found out quickly it was a predominantly gay beach. After changing, we walked out onto the beach and noticed only male couples lounging together.

And here we were, in our BYU swag.
