I get your points, but consider this...
I have several problems with the late games:

1- Little sleep. It would be nice to get some better zzzs. I get home especially late when attending the game too. Because game day traffic heading home is so terrible it takes me an hour to get home. I am sure it is worse for others. This makes for a much more sleepy Sunday. And of special note my Bishop oversees much of BYUs grounds including the football field. Because of these late games he sometimes doesn't get home until approximately 4-5 am.

2- National Exposure Concerns. Its true there are not many games on late at night, but in reality how many people are really going to stay up to 1-2 am to watch BYU on the east coast.

3- I have 4 young kids and it breaks my heart they are always sleeping when BYU plays. How can I raise the next generation of BYU crazies if the games go way past their bed time. You might say, "Just let them stay up! It is only a few nights a year!" Maybe your kids are different, but in my experience kids on little sleep make the next day very difficult.

4-LES!!! National sports pundits and fans almost all agree how incredible a venue LES is. However, much of the praise comes with the mountains and scenery. If all we have is night games we might as well be anywhere else since you can't see the scenery. Now LES is pretty awesome on its own, but there is no lying the backdrop of those mountains makes it even better.

6-Give me some warmth. As we get into the colder months I really appreciate the afternoon games just for a few more degrees of warmth. Don't get me wrong I can sit through some terrible weather even when the game is terrible too (Remember 2003 BYUvsUtah losing 3-0 during a freezing snowstorm. Sorry for bringing that up. Just remember 26-17 again). I can handle the cold but I will take a few degrees warmer if I have the choice.
