The companion pass is the hook for me.
And I live in Mesa so the fares are competitive to most places. But it is nice to have somebody fly with you on a companion pass for $5.60 every time you fly.
If I regularly traveled for business the things that you mentioned would have more appeal. But for somebody who flies for BYU football games and 1 family vacation SW is great with the companion pass.

SWA's cattle car planes will fill up as soon as they get in the air again. People like to save 2 bucks on a flight.
