Yes it is scheme! Tell me what technique do the DL use...on nearly 100% of their plays?
The Bull Rush. Every. Single. Time. That is the extent of the technique that our DL knows and uses.
There are no rips, swim moves, spins, stunts, push/pull, etc.
That has to be schematic since nothing has changed in 6yrs. We think we can get pressure with 4 DL who just bull rush 98% of the time. Sorry that is on the DC who has responsibility and oversight over the entire defense. His DLs have stunk from Day 1 because they lack proper technique and coaching.
