Traveling to Washington DC soon with family. A few questions.
Will be traveling with kids 9 and 11 y/o and my wife.
Is taking an Uber to Mount Vernon reasonable (hotel just South of US Capital a few blocks? Not a big fan of figuring out public transportation. Other "tour" buses look expensive and don't leave Washington DC until 10 AM. Would eat up a lot of the day. Hoping we could catch an Uber and be out to Mount Vernon by 9-9:30 AM. I'm totally unfamiliar with Uber...I've never used it.
What is the best way to visit Arlington Cemetery? What are the tours you can take at Arlington?
What are best museums that aren't Smithsonian? I've heard good things about the Spy Museum. Also considering Holocaust Museum for older child (we've read several Holocaust survivor books together).
Any good food recommendations in and around the National Mall?

Most museums are closed on Wednesdays. Just double check says. Arlington tours are long. Tomb of the unknown soldiers,

Contact your congressman or senator about booking a tour of the Capital. We did it and it is very cool. Also, Gettysburg
