It's really weird. The game was sold out and the morning of the game there were only 500 seats for sale on Stubhub (a
number that I'm sure went much lower before kickoff).
Some guesses...
1. Different departments at the university were given blocks of seats to give out for homecoming and didn't give them out?
2. Students crammed to the middle so even though each seats was accounted for it looked empty on the edges.
3. Students tickets aren't for sale... they have an allotment and the students didn't use their allotment.
