We’ve got this Honda generator. Runs off of gas. Has to be plugged in & started, but works really well. We just have a plug in out on our patio. We keep this stored in our garage when not in use. Have had to use it a total of 12 hours on 3 occasions in the past 6-7 years.

In event of power outage, we flip our breaker panel (so we don’t back feed power down the line) & plug this in & fire it up. Unit has electric start. Could run for several hours on one tank of gas.

We have our main upstairs panel wired to run off generator. That includes our well, fridge, upstairs lights, septic pump, deep freezer, microwave, garage, etc. Does not run large items like oven or drier.

Honda is exceptional. Go with the best when you really need it to work. Yes it’s not whisper quiet — but it’s not over powering loud either.

Only issue is Covid has made these very tough to come by. Best bet to find one is probably through a local Honda dealer.
