I think you're right actually. You don't have waste time on them, but why not offer anyway? Then at least they
can't claim they wanted to be at BYU but no offer, and as signing day nears they might start thinking....you know....I don't really want to be 1000 miles away from my girlfriend/friends or whatever and get in contact with you not feeling like that door has been closed already.
