It's worth shopping around. Even with a small shop, you could do better than ACA
marketplace rates.
For our family of 6, we pay about $1,000 per month before government subsidies kick in (and we end up paying about $500 per month). Our deductible is the same as our OOP Max--$13k.
But for our family, it works out generally, since we can sock away in our HSA and rarely ever get close to hitting our max oop.
I suspect, however, that you could get some decent employer-based plans that would be better / cheaper than straight through the marketplace.
