That is messy. A teenager hit one of our local deer in front of our house,
and crippled it. We called the cops and they asked us if we had a smaller caliber gun to put it out of its misery. I didn't have any 22 ammo, so he shot it with his 9 mm at midnight. Surprisingly, no-one's light came on, no-one came out to see why a shot rang out in the night. It was a bloody mess the next morning. Someone finally came and hauled it away midday, after all the school kids had to walk past it.
