a different DH bat for them? You wouldn't require relief pitchers to hit, would you? Seems like that would radically change the AL. But if pulling your SP meant you also lost your top DH and had to replace him, I can see that working.

That will still be there in the later innings, but not the 4th inning. I guess some people like that.

That is another idea. 5 pitchers available unless there is an injury or extra innings.

It won’t change starter workloads. It will change starts by 1-2 inning relievers
