When I was seven years old, my dad and maternal grandpa took me to LES for the SDSU game. I remember it being somewhat cold and overcast.
We got there quite early, as we normally did, in order to watch the team warm up. We were standing on the first row behind the BYU bench watching the players go through their pregame drills. This older gentleman on the sidelines walked over and introduced himself to us as Glen Tuckett. I didn't know what an athletic director was, but I knew he was important. Then I was really impressed when my dad told me that this gentleman had coached the baseball team while my parents were students at BYU.
After a few minutes of chatting, Mr. Tuckett asked me if I was thirsty. I think I responded with "I guess" and he walked over to the team table and brought me a green cup of Gatorade. It was a relatively insignificant thing for anyone else, but it was a huge deal for me as a 7 y.o. to be able to drink the same stuff that the players would be drinking during the game. Been a big fan of Mr. Tuckett ever since and that experience cemented my fandom as a boy.
