Acceptance into the Big 12 will cover some of his flaws for now, but there is a real chance they also magnify them. It will then be a matter of whether the administration is happy with the results they are getting or do they look to elevate the program as they elevate in stature in CFB?
He really needs to make the most of the time he has been given before BYU enters the Big12 (I have been talking about BYU preparing for this since they went Indy).
1. Recruit, Recruit, Recruit, Recruit, Recruit.
2. Find coaches who can get the most out of their players through ongoing development
3. Put the first 2 together and you will have better talent and better depth....talented depth
4. Talent wins....coaching is important, but you need the horses to compete....this season shows how fragile BYU with a few key injuries
Enjoy the next few years, but it is going to get real once BYU enters the Big12 and BYU may be looking for another coach if their current coach plateau's like Bronco did at BYU. I wish Kalani all the success in the world, but he better be prepared as BYU takes a step up in competition week in and week out.
