It's really hard to believe a 12/18 bowl game vs C-USA is paying out $2.2 mill
It's possible but I'd guess that BYU is going to be hoping to break even on this game.
The only thing the Independence Bowl has going for it is more history than many of the newer bowl games (like the Boca Raton Bowl or New Mexico Bowl or even the Potato Bowl).
