BYU Grounds Intervention Needed
To my parents defense or credit, they were children of the Depression. My dad..
was born in his house. Running water was a pump spigot in the kitchen. He lived in a converted chicken coop for several years bc that is all his parents could afford.

Before my father passed away a few years ago, my oldest brother was helping him get all of his financials in order. He looked at my dad and said, "Did you know you are a millionaire?"

My dad who came from the most humble circumstances in southern Idaho, was the first in his family to graduate from college, laughed and said, "who would have thought that."

Yup, I understand why mom and dad were so frugal or as some one else might think "cheap"

I loved my upbringing with re used ziploc bags, margarine, rationed OJ, powdered milk, bread bags in boots and hand me down clothes. It has made me a grounded person and some one who has never shirked from hard work.

Thanks for sharing your stories!
