When the enjoyment starts being primarily due to making others upset or mad, that's when it bothers me.
If the purpose is to celebrate the good we did, that's great. If it's to tease and get an eyeroll, that's good too. When it's to provoke and anger and then mock responses, that's when I don't like it.
Even if the actions are the exact same. Like I said, it's great for the first two, but more and more I see people saying the only reason to do it is because it makes others mad. I obviously can't know the motivation of everyone doing it and I've got zero issue with those who do engage in good-natured ribbing, like you described. My issue is more when it comes petty and angry. That's definitely not where it started, but there's definitely some people who have moved into that.
(Again, that's not unique to BYU fans - there's a whole litany of times Utah fans, players, program have done similar. Not saying they haven't. Just saying that's not who I want to be, even if someone else once lost my respect by doing that. I'm also fully aware that this will not be a popular opinion.)
