For UTSA, they have to go 4.5 hours instead of 6.
For UAB they have to go 6 instead of 9.5.
Probably a few more people from both UAB and UTSA fanbases will go to the game with the somewhat shorter travel distances. Conference USA wants to sell more tickets so they have to eat less money with the bowl deals. Conference USA is a poor conference trying to stretch every dollar.
SDSU is still a top 25-30 team and BYU had an unimpressive outing in their last time on the field. So its not a huge change for UTSA in opponent.
