Interesting. The house owned by the trust sounds like a brilliant idea. Everyone
wants free cash of course, but not everyone is equally capable of managing it.
The law of natural consequences is usually the best way to go.
In the case you mentioned, the person irresponsible with money received the natural consequence, as it should be. If that person bellyaches, too bad so sad: learn how to manage money or you won’t get it.
That’s how life is supposed to work. Well intentioned parents sometimes want to remove natural consequences as a way to show love to their child. This doesn’t help the child, so it’s not really an act of love.
