So my mom was selling her house in Central California this past summer. House was 3k sq feet but hadn’t been updated much in the 20 years she lived in it. Her real estate agent thought max, my mom would get would be 550k. My mom said that she would really like to see 600k.
Since the real estate agent knew my mom, he said, I will list it at 600k and say that the first offer gets it. If it doesn’t sell in 3 days, I’m going to list it at 550k.
So the house doesn’t sell in the 3 days and really doesn’t get any bites. We drop the price to 550k and a bidding war begins.
My mom ended up selling her home for 675k with no contingencies.😂😂🤷♂️
