That shouldn’t be normal, but depending on the role is more/less common
In my job if I did that then I’d be working as much as normal because 80% of my day is in calls/meetings to begin with.

I used to dial into the super important meetings during PTO but don’t any more. If it’s important that I can’t miss it then I don’t use PTO that half day. Otherwise it can wait until I get back.

I see a lot of our sales guys call in on their vacations though. Kinda makes sense because they get paid more on commission, but don’t feel like anyone in the company is telling/expecting them to. They are choosing to.

Any company expecting employees to call in during their PTO can pound sand.
