To me it’s most valuable player in the league, not most valuable to their respective team. If the Bucks traded Giannis for Rudy, does Milwaukee get better? More importantly, do they raise their ceiling? No they don’t.

Would Utah get better in that situation? They might win less games in the regular season adjusting, but ultimately they’d be much better off with Giannis.

If you gave every team in the league a choice to add Giannis or Rudy to their team tomorrow, all 28 would pick Giannis.

These aren’t perfect ways to look at it, but they’re questions I think about.
