Which wouldn't be as big-picture an issue, but would still be against the rules. Some Ute fans are ridiculous, but I generally try to keep a positive perspective. The way I see it's they didn't have to release him and weren't really expected to, so I try to focus on the good and think it's admirable they put the kid's best interest and wishes first.
