I think it needs to be more true east/west to minimize travel
Travel might not be as big a deal for football but it is for other sports.
Split OU/UT to make the transition from 7 to 6 seamless unless you have a plan for moving one team after they depart. And split the remaining Texas schools.
West

West Virginia
Cincy
Iowa State
Houston
Baylor
(UT)
The only real locks are BYU, Tech in the west; UCF, WVU, Cincy in the east. The others are more flexible to accommodate travel, cross-rivals, etc.
