I might be overly optimistic about Vava’u. But Neiafu at least has elevation and
A pretty naturally protective harbor to guard it from the worst of any storm surge. Will be interesting to see if the ash made it that far north.

I never went to either of the Niuas, so I couldn’t really speak to how vulnerable they are. They’re probably far enough north to not be impacted by ash at least. Hopefully far enough that waves lose some energy as well and the storm surge isn’t devastating.
