But there are also places I could go year after year and have a different experience every time.
For example, Yellowstone. We've camped in a couple of different places, stayed in the park, and stayed in West Yellowstone, and done a canoeing trip as well. It's such a huge place, if you're interested in seeing more than what you can see from the road, it wouldn't be hard to do several vacations there that are all different even if you go to some of the same places.
On the other hand, if you're interested in a more relaxing vacation, maybe you're just interested in a cabin at Tahoe or a VRBO on the beach in Hawaii - where you spend a lot of time lounging with a couple of mini-adventures, but you really don't want to be on the go very much.
I get torn sometimes - there are definitely a lot of places I still want to see. And yet there are also a lot of places I want to go back to. And I'm reaching a stage in my life that I'm starting to realize there's only a certain amount of years, so I'm going to have to prioritize - because I'm not going to do/see it all.
